Lepe’s tourist hub par excellence. Its upturn took place with the tourist boom of the sixties. La Antilla, Lepe’s main beach, less than 3 miles from the town, was transformed into a big area along the sea with almost 2 miles of fine, golden sandy beaches. With more than 3,000 hours of sun per year and its pleasant climate it is the ideal place to enjoy your holiday in the south of Andalusia. Thanks to the perfect condition of the beaches, the quality of the water and its fine sands, along with the extensive range of services in terms of cleanliness, safety, surveillance, health and tourist and environmental information, it has been acknowledged as a beach with the distinctions Q for Tourist Quality, Ecoplayas, SICTED Certificate – Integrated Quality Assurance System for Spanish Tourist Quality for Holiday Destinations” and Universal Accessibility Certificate”. This beach preserves the family touch it has always had, although it is true that the tourist infrastructures it includes (residential areas, small hotels and guest houses, beach services...) increasingly transform it into a hallmark for national and international tourism. In La Antilla we find the fisherman shanty town, a quarter strongly tied to the sea that has resisted developed tourism and maintained its traditional character and its deep-rooted customs. Nowadays, its boats keep on working in the sand of the same beach, surrounded by nets and fishing tools.

Gran Playa
Excelente lugar para darse un refrescante baño acompañado de buenos chiringuitos donde refrescarse de vez en cuando.
